Ultrafabrics collaborate with design duo PATTERNITY to celebrate the launch of Ultrafabrics Color Lab
This month Ultrafabrics, the premium manufacturer of animal free high-performance fabrics, launches the Ultrafabrics Color Lab. As a leader in the textile and soft surfaces industry, Ultrafabrics has long been a partner and resource for brands to future-proof their products with trend-setting colour choices. The Japanese – American brand offers over 500 hues and a custom service with the ability to match any tone on the spectrum, meaning the possibilities are endless.
With a long history of colour leadership thanks to thoughtful palettes, extensive offering and customised developments, Ultrafabrics Color Lab is the place to explore and experience colour.
The Ultrafabrics Color Lab analyses cultural influence, societal impacts, consumer behaviours and trends across industries to create a series of regular content that will educate and excite both brands and designers around the world.
Over the course of the year the Ultrafabrics’ team will release colour themed content on various channels. The Edge and Colour Perspective will be monthly updates on innovative uses of colour in the world. The Poetry of Colour is an ongoing digital series featuring notable designers, such as Oyuna Tserendorj of Oyuna, and Bibhu Mohapatra of luxury fashion house Bibhu. The content focuses on their fashion creations through the use of colour.
Women on Colour will be a series of case studies, told by a global chorus of female designers and colour authorities, on how they use colour to solve problems. ColourXchange will cover dynamic conversations between complementary brands on their approach to colour in design.
Celebrating the launch of the Ultrafabrics Color Lab, Ultrafabrics are excited to announce a partnership with design duo PATTERNITY, a creative collaboration built on shared values of heritage, circular design and craftsmanship. Taking inspiration from nature and Ultrafabrics’ vast array of colours and textures, PATTERNITY has created a conceptual Fabric Forest within the London Showroom.
The installation celebrates Ultrafabrics expertise in colour, creativity and innovation. Utilising Ultrafabrics’ extensive selection of colour and texture, the immersive installation explores their sustainability journey which includes bio-based materials, water conservation and waste reduction.
The installation has been designed and built with intentional thought to its afterlife, reflecting Ultrafabrics’ dedication to the wellbeing of people and the planet. By avoiding adhesives and additional processes, Fabric Forest can be dismantled and reused, giving it a second life.
Co-founded by Anna Murray and Grace Winteringham, PATTERNITY is an award-winning, conscious creative organisation bridging the worlds of design, wellness, science and sustainability through pattern-based art initiatives and multidisciplinary projects. PATTERNITY’s mission is to tell meaningful stories that highlight human interconnectedness with nature and promote positive patterns of seeing and being on the living Earth today.
