Staying true to its sophisticated aesthetic, French furniture design house Roche Bobois has launched a curated selection of pieces for the home office.
One of the many issues we face in working from home is creating a space which meets our functional needs while seamlessly merging it with our own personal style and décor. Finding products which enable organisation, or that offer superior comfort when desk-bound for extended periods of time, often means that style must be comprised to allow for practicality. However, thanks to the design-led vision of many creatives, it is becoming easier to strike a balance between the two.
French furniture design brand Roche Bobois is a recent example of how a beautiful harmony is being established between function and form. As part of its Autumn-Winter 2023 launch, a series of designs have been included to help elevate workspaces at home. Through merging practicality with elegance, they have conceived creations that are set to increase efficiency without any compromise on style. From large-scale bookcases and shelving systems, to desks, a floor lamp and ergonomic task chairs, it presents a refined vision for the future of office furniture design.
Working with an array of exceptional talents to design each piece, the brand is staying true to the chic aesthetic it has become renowned for. The CEO chair, designed by Luxembourg-based product designer Sacha Lakic, is one of the most prominent designs in the curation, with its oversized silhouette and mid-century modern appeal. Set onto a rotating base with an integrated rocking mechanism, the deep-cushioned chair maximises comfort while adding grandeur to any setting. Available in leather or fabric upholstery finishes, set against glossy, chrome-plated metal base, it oozes class.
For more compact home office areas, the Nixon President Armchair, designed by industrial design studio Fritsch + Durisotti, offers a sleek and sensual alternative. Encased in walnut plywood, the soft angular form offers a superior ergonomic comfort with cushioned back and seat panels, again available in leather or fabric options. The Reminiscence Desk by Bina Baitel is also a statement piece within the collection. With a nod to the savoir-faire of the 1930s, the curvaceous stained oak veneered top sits juxtaposed to the strong, sharp lines of its brass lacquered metallic base.
With a wide array of designs available in the collection, it offers the chance to curate your own selection according to your individual preferences. And, through the finesse of Roche Bobois’ design sensibility, the home office becomes a beautiful statement within the home rather than an obligatory afterthought.
