Dubbed Cohesion Guangzhou, SHH have delivered 43,000 sq ft of offices to occupy the top two floors of a 67-storey tower in the heart of the city’s financial district

London-based architecture and interior design studio SHH designed Cohesion as an antidote to the current Guangzhou financial district co-working market. At present, the spaces in China's third biggest city are largely occupied by functional yet lacklustre interiors that are mostly rented out to multinational companies.

After having identified a gap in the market, the London-based practice set out to diversify the way Guangzhou works. In the Cohesion development, SHH has created 43,000 sq ft of offices that sit across the top two floors of a 67-storey tower in the city's financial district.

As SHH positioned the majority of the more traditional office workstations towards the centre of the building, this allowed them to populate the periphery of the building with a wide array of beautiful breakout spaces.

SHH have incorporated a generous provision of communal spaces throughout Cohesion for informal work, meetings and events, as a means to foster networking and collaboration between businesses.

Cohesion not only offers a refreshing alternative to Guangzhou’s current co-working offerings; it also provides a contemporary setting for start-ups to flourish.

There are plans in the near future to roll out the design concept across China, proving that Guangzhou’s Cohesion has been a success.
