By combining a laser pointer and smartphone, Smart Dot is a product from Tangram Design Lab with multiple uses. Presented in the form of a 3.5mm audio jack, Smart Dot can be used with any smartphone or tablet device. A free application is downloaded to use the host device as a laser pointer. When connected to a nearby computer by Wi-Fi, the app can be used as a trackpad or flick between slides in a presentation. The jack can also be plugged into a coloured strap or a stylus pen, which when separated, can control the host device.
